Fuel Your School Official Rules

  1. Agreement and Use

By accessing and using the www.forms.caltex.com/fuelyourschool/ph/default.aspx website and its contents, you agree to the terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") which govern and limit your use of the site and its contents. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, you should not use the site.

  2. Community Campaign

Through the Caltex Fuel Your School Campaign, we will donate PhP1.00 for every 1-liter purchase of gasoline at participating Caltex stations in Northern Luzon to the American Chamber Foundation. AmCham Foundation will use Chevron Philippines Inc.’s donations to fund eligible classroom projects of 30 highest need public senior high schools in Northern Luzon as shortlisted by the Department of Education of the Philippines. A total of PhP3,000,000 is available for funding for all schools. All Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classroom project requests must be approved by AmCham Foundation and the FYS panel of judges to be eligible for funding.

  3. Participating Caltex Stations

Only selected Caltex service stations in Northern Luzon are participating in this community campaign.

  4. Community Campaign Period

The Community Campaign Period will begin at 12:00:01 a.m. PHT on June 1, 2018 and is scheduled to end at 11:59:59 p.m. PHT on July 31, 2018 (the "Community Campaign Period"). Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) reserves the right to end the Community Campaign Period earlier if the amount available for funding is achieved (Php100,000 per public school).

  5. How Consumers Participate

Consumers participate in the Community Campaign by visiting participating Caltex stations and filling up. Through the Caltex Fuel Your School campaign, we will donate P1 for every 1-liter fuel purchase to fund the classroom projects of the 30 highest-need public senior high schools in Northern Luzon. Consumers may also independently fund classroom projects on the Caltex Fuel Your School Facebook page by making a separate, individual donation via the AmCham Foundation. There is no obligation or requirement to do so.

  6. How Schools Participate

Schools participate by submitting classroom project requests to the Caltex Fuel Your School website (https://forms.caltex.com/fuelyourschool/ph/Default.aspx) for posting after the Project Screening Period. Schools must be eligible to participate and classroom project requests must be submitted by individual Eligible Project Submitters.

    1. Eligible Schools: All 30 highest-need public senior high schools in Northern Luzon shortlisted by the Department of Education of the Philippines are eligible to receive funding.
    2. Eligible Project Submitters: Full-time educators who spend at least 75 percent of time working directly with students, at eligible public high schools in Northern Luzon (classroom teachers, subject teachers, librarians, etc). Administrators, part-time educators, assistants or student teachers and volunteers are not eligible to submit proposals. Only one classroom project request per educator will be eligible for funding.
    3. Eligible Classroom Project Requests: Approved Classroom Projects are eligible for Caltex Fuel Your School funding if material costs are Php100,000.00 or less per project. Field trips are not eligible for funding through this Community Campaign. Chevron Philippines Inc. recognizes the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for the future and encourages classroom project requests that support STEM education.
    4. Project Submission Period: The Project Submission Period will begin at 12:00:01 a.m. PHT on April 23, 2018 and is scheduled to end at 11:59:59 p.m. on May 11, 2018 (the "Project Submission Period"). 5. Project Submission Procedure: Eligible Project Submitters can submit a Caltex Fuel Your School project proposal at https://forms.caltex.com/fuelyourschool/ph/Default.aspx. Each school can submit as many entries as it likes but only the first two qualified entries that require a funding of not more than P100,000.00 in total will be included in the shortlist for the Caltex Fuel Your School community campaign.
  7. How Projects Are Posted and Made Available for Funding

All Classroom Project Requests submitted for Caltex Fuel Your School funding will go through a panel of judges. This will consist of qualified CPI officers and other qualified individuals including AmCham Foundation Board of Trustees who will score the submissions based on the criteria below. The submissions with the highest cumulative points will then be posted on the Caltex Fuel Your School Facebook page. Judges will shortlist the projects based on the following criteria (i.e. each of these areas should demonstrate how they support STEM Education):

    1. Up to 30 points are available for submissions that demonstrate the creative and innovative use of requested project materials
    2. Up to 30 points are available for submissions that promote a hands-on learning experience in the classroom
    3. Up to 20 points are available for submissions that support existing classroom curriculum and course objectives
    4. Up to 20 points are available for submissions that demonstrate that the project materials can be sustainable past a one-time use
  8. How Projects Are Funded

    1. Project Funding Period: The Project Funding Period begins on June 1, 2018 and ends on July 31, 2018 or until all funds have been exhausted. Notwithstanding the foregoing, CPI, in its sole discretion, may end the Project Funding Period sooner or later if there are available funds or if the funds have been expended. Once projects are funded, the materials/supplies for the funded project will be fulfilled and distributed by AmCham Foundation.
    2. Allocation of Earned Funds: Eligible public senior high schools will have their projects funded through fuel purchases at Caltex stations located in Northern Luzon. Eligible senior public high schools may not have their projects funded if the Php 3,000,000.00 has been expended or there is insufficient fuel purchases at Caltex stations. Any fund remaining on July 31, 2018 due to lack of Eligible Classroom Project Requests may be reallocated, at CPI’s sole discretion, to other related AmCham Foundation projects benefiting public school students in the Philippines, or to the next Caltex Fuel Your School program benefiting the highest-need senior public high school students.
    3. Allocation of Earned Funds: Shortlisted Project Submissions will be posted on the Caltex Fuel Your School Facebook page at 12:00:01 on June 1, 2018 until 11:59:59 p.m. July 31, 2018, at CPI’s sole discretion. During this time, schools should promote their projects in Caltex FYS Microsite page in Facebook. Highest likes are ranked first for funding. All projects are listed and funded based on number of likes. By the end of the campaign period (11:59:59 p.m. July 31, 2018), the top 3 projects that have received the most number of Caltex Fuel Your School Facebook fan “Likes” will receive special prizes up to P100,000. Awarding will be held on September 13, 2018 unless otherwise determined by Chevron Philippines Inc. CPI reserves the right to change or modify the order in which Eligible Classroom Project Requests are funded in its sole discretion. Consumers may also independently contribute to funding Eligible Classroom Project Requests and/or other posted projects directly through the AmCham Foundation.
    4. Limitations on Funding: Up to P 100,000.00 in funding per public senior high school in Northern Luzon will be made available by CPI. We will fund up to 2 posted Eligible Classroom Project Requests per school. CPI reserves the right to partially fund Eligible Classroom Project Requests in the event that there will be insufficient funds.
